Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of this website (www.louisabarry.com) and all services provided by Louisa Barry. By accessing the website, making an enquiry, or booking any service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By visiting and using this website, or by booking services through any channel (including but not limited to the online booking system, social media, email, or in person), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Performance Enquiries

All performance enquiries are treated individually and are subject to the specific agreement made at the time of booking.

3. Bookings

All bookings, whether made online, via social media, email, or in person, are subject to these Terms and Conditions.

4. Right of Refusal

Louisa Barry reserves the right, at her sole discretion, to refuse coaching or teaching services to any individual.

5. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • Appointments cancelled within 72 hours of the scheduled start time will incur the full fee, with no exceptions. This includes cancellations due to illness. No refund or reschedule will be offered if less than 72 hours’ notice is given.

  • If more than 72 hours’ notice is provided, the appointment may be rescheduled within 6 months of the original booking date.

  • In cases of mild illness, an online lesson (charged at the same rate) may be offered as an alternative.

6. Refunds

Refunds (where applicable) will be processed via Stripe and may take up to 10 working days to appear in your account.

7. Privacy and Confidentiality

  • All client information is treated with the highest level of discretion and confidentiality.

  • Client names will never be used without explicit written permission.

  • All sessions are confidential; however, anything discussed constitutes non-medical advice. Clients are solely responsible for consulting a qualified medical doctor if advised to follow up a β€˜red flag’.

8. Insurance

Louisa Barry is fully insured by BGi.UK.

9. Safeguarding and DBS

  • Louisa Barry holds a valid Enhanced DBS certificate and is qualified to work with children. She also receives annual Safeguarding Training.

  • To ensure the safety of all parties, a parent or guardian may be required to attend the session of any person under the age of 18.

10. Online Sessions

  • All online sessions are subject to the same Terms and Conditions as in-person sessions.

  • Online sessions work effectively when bandwidth is sufficient; clients are encouraged to use a wired internet connection or high-speed fibre-optic broadband. Louisa Barry operates under these standards; therefore, any lag, delay, or disconnection will be deemed the responsibility of the client.

  • An external microphone connected to a desktop or laptop computer is strongly recommended over smartphones or tablets.

  • Louisa Barry has a zero-tolerance policy in respect of inappropriateness in any online platform.

  • At the start of each Zoom session, Louisa Barry may provide guidance on optimising Zoom settings for audio quality.

11. Live Accompaniment and Recordings

Live accompaniment is not available for online sessions. However, recordings can be made and provided within the timeframe of the lesson, as would occur in an in-person session.

12. Session Recording

  • Audio Recording: All sessions are audio recorded and stored securely and anonymously.

  • Video Recording (Zoom Sessions): Zoom sessions may be video recorded. A secure link to the recording will be provided to the client immediately after the session.

  • Recordings are provided strictly for personal use and must not be shared, published, or distributed without prior written consent.

13. Limitation of Liability

  • While every effort is made to deliver services to the highest professional standard, Louisa Barry shall not be held liable for:

    • any technical issues, interruptions, or failures in internet connectivity, software, or hardware that may affect the quality of an online session;

    • any injury, loss, or damage (whether direct, indirect, or consequential) arising from participation in lessons, performances, or activities connected to services provided;

    • any reliance placed by the client on advice, guidance, or information given during sessions, which are expressly non-medical in nature.

  • Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit or exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability which cannot be excluded under applicable law.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
